CUSTOM DESIGNS TO

TURNAIR louvers are custom designed utilizing the latest engineering technology to meet individual requirements with assurance of quality, experience and dependability.

Frames are welded and braced to keep moving parts of each section in perfect alignment. 

Formed galvanized or extruded aluminum blades are available.  Blades may be opposed or parallel and are aligned and balanced for efficiency, strength and precision operation.

Louver operation may be controlled by individual or multiple unit installations by either manual or automatic operators.  The manual operating mechanism is designed and manufactured to be completely trouble free.

Bearings are heavy duty Acetal and Teflon glass-filled that require no lubrication. Extruded pivot holes for bearings help absorb vibration and increases louver life. Stainless Steel bearings are also available for high heat applications.

Blade pivot pins are 3/8 inch diameter .304 stainless steel.

Life of louvers for (40) years will depend on vibration and number of times opening and closing.  Bearing has been tested at 200,000 times opening and closing and shown no signs of wear.  This design helps to insure years of trouble free operation and no expensive down time to repair or replace louvers.

TORQUE REQUIREMENTS

Torque test suggest that 2.0 inch lbs torque per sq. ft. are required to fully open and close louvers in horizontal position.  Louvers in vertical position require 2.4 inch lbs per sq. ft. to fully open and close.

This information does not reflect any data in regard to the required safety factors.  We recommend 1.5%.

The test were performed with no consideration in regard to the operation of the louver in adverse conditions.

Actuator spring requirements in regard to fail position are an important factor in regard to proper operation of the louvers.

Proper installation of motors will be the final test as to proper operation .  We always recommend that our customers allow us to provide the motor that is required.  We will install the motor and perform thorough testing in regard to proper operation of the louver in our shop.

Louvers are guaranteed to be in proper working order when they leave our plant.  Actuators are guaranteed if we install them.
